In order to write this I only had to close my eyes
I only needed to stop looking around for a moment and go deep inside
The lessons I have learned are still saved deep within
I keep the memories so I can avoid those falls again
I must admit
I often sit and reflect
I want to make sure that I never ever forget
Yeah I remember burying my face down deep in the pillows
I felt I had nothing
I was lost
I had zero
I shunned the days and prayed for the nights instead
And I spent most of those crying in bed
You see this is easy for me
Because I am a walking testimony
A living example of love, grace and mercy
Yeah I found a way
Called Faith
It’s this wonderful thing
It says you believe in the sunshine and you understand what rain brings
And you know that pain is just a temporary thing
I have won, I have lost
I have given my all
And still come up too short to pay the cost
I have crashed into walls, I have ignored Gods call
I have been too little to take responsibility for the fall
I was not always the man that stood this tall
What I am trying to say is I know the way
I will say it again and again
Its called Faith
If you find yourself down on your knees
Say a prayer and start walking and know that God can hear your pleas
Yeah there is a way
To be saved
Even from the worst place
Yeah
I Know A Way
Called Faith.

Carl The Muse is just one of those souls who found the way to rise from his knees
And now he is telling every other good soul how victory can be achieved
The stories can be told so many different ways
But in the end
It will end with me telling you about a person who has been saved
The same way
Called Faith.

Faith is a gift, much like an invisible muscle. In order for it to grow, it must be exercised.
The way it is exercised is through challenging circumstances.
Follow as I speak from the medical perspective:
Your bicep muscle will not get stronger sitting on the couch, taking it easy. It requires effort. The muscle must contract from origin to insertion ( or vice versa) in order to increase its muscle fibers.
Working out is hard, painful sometimes. There is inflammation and a build up of toxins with concomitant depletion of other vital substances, such as calcium. Blood rushes to the muscle to deliver oxygen, nourishment and remove toxins. The old phrase “No pain, no gain” has truth to it.
The pain is necessary for growth.
From the spiritual perspective:
As we suffer loss in our lives, we are in pain (emotional, physical, mental or spiritual). We reach out for hope and help from God to deliver what we need, much like the blood removing the toxins and delivering life-sustaining nourishment.
Carl says it so well:
“It’s this wonderful thing
It says you believe in the sunshine and you understand what rain brings
And you know that pain is just a temporary thing….”
Thank you Carl for sharing your story!
