This is a picture of a Caribbean reef shark.
I am afraid of nothing…..except swimming in the ocean with hungry sharks.
My husband said, “Come on, it’ll be fun!
I asked the person who ran the boat if anyone had been bit in the past 6 months. He said, “Nope, not that I’m aware of. I’ve only been here 3 months.”
I did a nervous chuckle.
I noticed that many of the other snorkelers were getting into the water. Some of them were children.
“If they can do it, I can do it.” I put my gear on, wiped my sweaty palms on my bathing suit and gingerly got into the abyss, the deep beyond. Using my flip camera, I breath heavily through my snorkel as I looked down. There were snorkelers to my left and right holding onto a rope.
The sharks kept getting closer and closer to me. The instructor said they fed them 1/2 hour prior to us arriving. I just had to have faith in what he said.
So….I did it and I was so proud of myself!
What have you done that you thought you could never do?

I know it would never be swimming near sharks…noooo wayyyy.. Brave You! I know there must be something but offhand all I can think of is that I never thought I would find my way out of a depression that was a constant companion for much of my adult life… but I did and for the last 3 years or so have been free….Diane
I love that you are free Diane! Now that is a brave thing.
Stemming from a horrible event in my childhood, when terrorised with big, hairy, Huntsman spiders, the sight of even a small spider would send me into a trauma and would cause yet another nightmare. This lasted for decades. Then, in the very early hours of one morning, the Lord very graciously and lovingly lead me through many childhood events and gave me peace and freedom. A few days later, while cleaning the Church, my friend warned me of a big Huntsman behind the curtain on the stage. I pulled the curtain back and killed the spider with my shoe.
I can’t say I like spiders and wouldn’t want to touch one, especially not a Huntsman, but they no longer terrorise me.
Praise the Lord for victory.
I had to look up what a huntsman spider was on the web (No pun intended). I have never seen a spider that big in my entire life. They’re as big as your hand! Disgusting. What an amazing story you have. I don’t even know you, but I’m really proud of you. Isn’t it amazing that God takes care of us, take care of our fears and frees us from bondage. Your comment is like a breath of fresh air to me. Thank you so much.
